2007 Jeep Compass A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Removine an A/C Condenser on 2007 Jeep Compass?
A: Be sure to not touch the air seals for either the radiator or the condensor before removing the A/C condenser. You should start by disconnecting the negative battery cable and then drain the refrigerant out of the system. On models powered by a 2.0L diesel engine, take out the front fascia; on gasoline engine cars, unhook the upper radiator support and place it elsewhere. Push the radiator back a little bit to reach the A/C condenser. Get rid of the securing nut at the end of the A/C discharge line, as well as the O-ring and the gasket appearing here and make sure to cap openings in the line and A/C condenser by using tape or plugs. Support the vehicle, then unfasten the line support nut on the right side of the condenser and remove both the line and its O-ring seal and gasket after disconnecting them. After that, plug or tape both openings and tighten them. Take out the two bolts keeping the lower condenser brackets in place on the radiator, lower the vehicle and if it has an automatic transmission, cut or disconnect the cooler lines from the left side of the condenser. If you have the 2.0L diesel engine, take out the charge air cooler. After that, pull straight up on the A/C condenser, separating the two upper brackets from the radiator and move the condenser out of the engine compartment.
