• Q: How Is the Heater Core Installed on 2007 Jeep Compass?

  A: Place the heater core (6) into the left side of the air distribution housing (5) during installation. Join the air distribution housing (5) to the HVAC housing (9) on RHD models. Attach the heater core tubes (8) with the retaining bracket (4) and screw (3), pulling the screw to 1.2 Nm (10 in. lbs.). Then, place the flange (2) in front of the HVAC housing and insert screw (10), securing the heater core tubes and tighten it to the value set. A damaged or bent foam seal for the flange has to be fixed or replaced. Install the foam seal (1) along the flange and set in the left side front floor duct next. Don't forget to flush the cooling system before you begin to assemble the HVAC system parts.
