2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Oil Pan Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace an Oil Pan on 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Disconnect the negative battery wire and follow this by removing the radiator fan and the intake manifold. Right now, do not lift the engine for Special Tool #8534 but instead remove the structural cover after its installation. Remove the bolts on both side engine mounts (3) and elevate the engine with Special Tool #8534 so there is enough room to get the oil pan out. Dispose of the engine oil and extract the oil filter without ever picking at the oil pan or oil pan gasket, since the gasket is already mounted to the engine and stays with it. With everything else out, take out the bolts securing the oil pan to the engine, remove the oil pan, unbolt the oil pump pickup tube and get rid of both the tube and the oil pan gasket.
