2007 Jeep Patriot Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Service and Repair a Second Row Outboard Seat Belt on 2007 Jeep Patriot?
A: Begin with a check of all seat belts, buckles, mounting pieces, retractors, tether straps and anchor plates, noting if anything looks misaligned, loose or damaged and then replace any belts that are torn, fix any twisted belts, tighten loose fasteners and put in new belt buckles or retractors with any bent or broken latch plates or anchor plates. You should always swap out bent or damaged child restraint anchor points or units when required and never think about repairing a seat belt or child restraint accessory; every part should always be a freshly purchased one from the DaimlerChrysler Mopar(R) Parts Catalog. To be able to remove the seat belt lower anchor, first take out the screw that holds it under the rear seat, then remove the cushion. Afterward, pull off the upper trim inside the C-pillar and insert the end of the seat belt lower anchor through the seat belt opening in the C-pillar trim piece above. Unscrew the belt loop and take the loop out of the upper C-pillar. Get to the seat belt retractor by sliding the trim at the front of the quarter panel back, then undo and remove the screw securing it to the lower C-pillar. In the end, take out the second row outboard seat belt and retractor from the lower C-pillar as one assembly.
