2007 Jeep Patriot Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Air Bag Sensor Located in the B-Pillar on 2007 Jeep Patriot?
A: First, switch off the supplemental restraint system by taking out the battery's negative terminal and then wait for two minutes so the capacitor loses its charge before servicing the B-pillar sensor. Manual guidance systems rely on this sensor, so you should not strike or hit it so as to avoid any problems that may result in calibration issues or damage. Move the driver or passenger front seat all the way forward to reach the B-pillar trim without any difficulty. Pull the trim from the inside of the right or left rear pillar and then remove the screw that holds the side impact sensor to the B-pillar. Disconnect the plug at the connector on the body wire harness from the sensor receptacle and pull the sensor out of the B-pillar. The side impact sensor is included in part number 2, the screw is part number 1 and the body wire harness connector is item number 4. Side and front crash sensors are easily switched with each other.
