2007 Jeep Wrangler Radiator Cap Parts and Q&A

  • Q: Is Your Radiator Cap in Need of Replacement? How to Inspect and Decide on 2007 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Look straight at the radiator cap, with the bottom facing up, to ensure the vent valve opens. When the rubber gasket is puffed up and the air bubble does not appear when filling, the cap has to be remade. Following this, hold the cap inverted at eye level; if you can see light appearing between the two, the cap is also required for replacement. The cap you use should not include a spring; instead, it should be made for reservoir fluid use and fitted with a sealed rubber gasket replacing the spring in the cap. Placing the gasket on top of the filler neck of the radiator forms a good seal so the coolant can return to the radiator properly.
