How to Effectively Service and Repair a Thermostat on 2007 Jeep Wrangler?

The first thing to do when servicing or repairing the thermostat is to let all the refrigerant escape below the thermostat level. Then, loosen and take out the upper hose from the radiator's coolant outlet. Following this, release the bolts and the coolant outlet connector itself. Once you're done, pull the thermostat from the outlet connector, throw away the gasket and wash off both gaskets.
