2008 Chrysler Crossfire TPMS Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How Can a TPMS Sensor Be Properly Installed and Tested for Functionality on 2008 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Don't install the pressure transmitter in the wheel before first safeguarding the rubber grommet under the valve stem and addressing any flaws on the wheel's surface where it contacts the grommet. Fasten the tire pressure transmitter/sensor to the wheel and secure it with the special sensor nut which should touch each side of the sensor, with a recommended tightness of 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.). Be sure to use the correct mounting steps at the top of the extended mobility tire to prevent damage to your wheel and tire and then air them up to their required specs. Put an original or OEM valve stem cap on the valve stem and examine for air leaks at the mount by applying a soap solution. Wheel flange mount or use stick-on wheel weights to balance the wheel and tire, then set the tire/wheel back onto the vehicle. Retraining Tire Pressure Monitoring is easy; just place the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter in position, connect the scan tool to the vehicle, drive at 25 MPH for about two minutes and watch the TPM system by following its readings on the scan tool.
