2008 Dodge Avenger A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Service and Repair an A/C Hose on 2008 Dodge Avenger?
A: Before serving the A/C liquid line, detach and isolate the negative battery cable first and then recover the refrigerant from the system. Lift the car and take out the accumulator from the air conditioner system. Remove the fastener screwing the A/C liquid line into your A/C condenser using the side opening in the front of your vehicle. Separate the A/C liquid line from the condenser and then get rid of the O-ring and gasket. Install plugs or use tape to cover the openings on the refrigerant line and on the condenser and accumulator ports, before bringing the car lower to ground level. Take out the nuts holding the heat shield to the studs on the dash panel in the front, then position the reservoir bottle and the power steering reservoir at a safe distance while leaving both reservoirs sealed. Take out the windshield washer reservoir and remove the nut holding the refrigerant line bracket onto the right front strut tower. For RHD models, pull off the parts that secure the brake vacuum hose to the dash panel and put it out of your way. Remove the bolt linking the A/C liquid and suction line assembly to the A/C evaporator, get rid of the assembly and toss out the dual-plane seals. Be sure to cover both the refrigerant and suction line fittings as well as the ports to the evaporator with plugs or tape, before you take apart the A/C stack from the engine compartment.
