The first step in servicing the A/C suction line is to remove the negative
Battery Cable from the circuit and let the refrigerant leave the car. Support the vehicle beneath it and take out the
A/C Accumulator. Locate the opening in the front fascia and access the front right corner at this location to take off the nut holding the A/C liquid line to the
A/C Condenser. After that, take off the liquid line and throw away the O-ring seal and gasket. Before you lift the vehicle, cover or seal the opened refrigerant fittings on the lines, along with the condenser and accumulator ports. Break the three nuts holding the heat shield to the dash and take the heat shield off. Temporarily remove the engine coolant and
Power Steering Reservoirs where they won't get damaged, skipping the drain stage, then pull out the windshield
Washer Reservoir. After that, take out the nut connecting the refrigerant line retaining bracket to the right front strut tower. Remove and pause the retention of the power brake booster vacuum supply hose for RHD models and keep it somewhere it won't interfere. Disconnect the bolts that hold the A/C liquid and suction line assembly to the
Evaporator, pull the assembly off and discard both seals. Again, let's tape over or cap the open fittings on the refrigerant line and the evaporator ports after the liquid and suction line assembly is taken out of its place in the engine compartment. After taking apart the suction line, disconnect the negative battery and collect the refrigerant. First, raise and hold the vehicle up, then get rid of the right front wheel, plus its retaining screws and push pins to get to the A/C accumulator. Securely remove the nut attaching the lower A/C line to the accumulator. Unhook the line, remove the O-ring and gasket and set them aside. Close off the suction line fitting with tape or a plug and the accumulator port, then detach the nut holding the A/C ram pipe to the compressor and discard the two seals and the gasket. Cover the opening of the suction line fitting and the compressor port with tape or plastic before you remove the suction line from the engine compartment.
