2008 Dodge Avenger Brake Booster Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Brake Booster on 2008 Dodge Avenger?
A: Start by isolating the battery's negative side by removing it from its post. After that, take out the fasteners that secure the PCM and move it out of the way. Take out the master cylinder and then remove the rear brake tubes at the junction block, adding plugs to every uncovered brake tube. Don't remove the check valve from inside the vacuum booster; just unsnap the vacuum hose from it. Lift off the steering column cover and the stop lamp switch, throwing the switch away as it cannot be used again. After that, take a small screwdriver, put it under the retaining clip's center tang and turn it to allow the tang to slide across the bottom of the pedal pin. Pull the booster push rod from the brake pedal pin, then remove all four nuts securing the power brake booster to the dash panel. After that, push the power brake booster forward enough to clear the dash panel and get it out through the front side of the car.
