How to Service and Repair a Trunk Lid Latch on 2008 Dodge Avenger?

You must release the decklid latch and open it before servicing or repairing the trunk or liftgate latch. Draw around the position of the decklid latch to guide you when installing the latch. Disconnect the wire connectors to the remote release solenoid if equipped. Remove the two bolts attaching the decklid latch to the decklid, and then take out the decklid latch from the vehicle.
