2008 Dodge Challenger A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A
Q: How Can Proper Maintenance of the A/C Condenser Prevent System Malfunction and Compressor Damage on 2008 Dodge Challenger?
A: When working on the A/C refrigerant system, always follow the oil level recommendations as too much or too little oil can cause A/C problems and even compressor damage. If you need to replace several A/C components, turn to the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to find out how much oil to add. Use 30 milliliters (or 1 fluid ounce) of the right refrigerant oil if you are replacing only one A/C condenser. Be sure to change the refrigerant line O-rings and gaskets before disconnecting the lines from the refrigerant. Make certain that all the seals on the A/C radiator and condenser are properly installed for the best cooling. If the power steering cooler brackets are needed, attach them to the A/C condenser first, then set the A/C condenser on the radiator and fasten it with four bolts tightened to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). After that, put the A/C receiver/drier onto the A/C condenser and install the power steering fluid cooler onto the A/C condenser. Unite the discharge line from the A/C to the A/C condenser and also the A/C liquid line to the condenser. After that, set the front fascia and link up the negative battery cable again. Evacuate the refrigerant system and if putting in a new A/C condenser, add 1 fluid ounce of the right refrigerant oil or look at the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart for several replacement parts, using only the recommended refrigerant oil. The last step is to charge the refrigerant system correctly.
