2008 Dodge Challenger Automatic Transmission Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an Automatic Transmission Filter and Fluid on 2008 Dodge Challenger?
A: Before servicing or repairing the fluid and filter, you need to run the car's engine until circulation reaches normal temperature. After that, raise your vehicle and give it the support it needs. Remove all the bolts and retainers joining the oil pan to the transmission first, then lift off the oil pan and the gasket it sits on. After that, remove the transmission oil filter and o-ring from the electrohydraulic control unit. Scrub the inside of the oil pan and check the oil pan gasket; fix it if it seems damaged. Put on the new oil filter and o-ring to the electrohydraulic control unit and then secure the gasket and transmission oil pan after. The bolts and retainers should be placed around the oil pan and tightened until they read 8 Nm or 70 in.lbs. After the car is low, add 5.0 L (10.6 pts.) of transmission fluid to the transmission and check it.
