2008 Dodge Challenger Exhaust Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the Left and Right Side Exhaust Manifolds on 2008 Dodge Challenger?
A: First, cut and unhook the negative battery cable, then remove both the housing and the bottle from the air filter without cutting or unhooking the hoses. Afterward, take off the top row of bolts that connect the manifold in the engine bay, safely lift and support the car on a hoist and pull out the lower splash shield. Remove all together the exhaust pipe, the knock sensor and the bottom bolts from the manifold from under the vehicle and then remove the manifold. Remove the negative battery cable, open the power distribution box and loosen its bracket to begin work on the right side exhaust manifold. First, bring the wire harness on the inner fender panel to the other side, then unbolt the bottom screws of the manifold from the underside of the car. Raise the vehicle, take out the exhaust assembly along with the lower splash shield; perform these procedures before getting under the vehicle. Next up, remove the starter and heat shield, then remove the knock sensor, the top row of bolts from the manifold hidden under the hood and then pull out the manifold from underneath the vehicle.
