How to Service and Repair a Fuel Pump on 2008 Dodge Dakota?

Drain and remove the fuel tank before repairing or servicing the fuel level sensor so you can let out the pressure on the fuel system. Note the rotation of the fuel pump module, following the instructions marked by the indexing arrow before removing it. Put the lockring remover/installer into the notches in the outside edge of the lockring. Clamp a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar onto Lockring Remover/Installer 9340 and turn the bar counter-clockwise to get the lockring loose. With the lockring off, the module will pop up slightly so that it can be taken out of the fuel tank without harming the float arm.
