How to Install and Service a Hood Latch on 2008 Dodge Dakota?

If your replacement hood latch requires it, make sure it is well lubricated before you install it. Pull the hood release cable through the hole on the dash board and have it sit under the hood over the release lever. Afterward, put the hood release handle in place and hold it together with the screws. Put the cable grommet into the dash panel, then connect the retainer clips to the release cable and set them into the correct holes in the engine area. As the last step, add in the hood latch.
