2008 Dodge Grand Caravan Camshaft Position Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Camshaft Position Sensor in a 3.3/3.8L Engine on 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: Before doing anything else on the Camshaft Position Sensor, make sure the negative battery cable is removed and isolated. After that, take out the air box cover and inlet tube. The camshaft position sensor electrical connector should be disconnected from the wiring harness connector and then the sensor bolts should be removed. To remove the sensor, pull it up out of the chain case cover by turning the sensor away from the block, not pulling on the sensor wiring. Be careful as the O-ring on the body may make taking out the sensor hard; giving the top of the sensor a gentle tap first may make it easier to remove.
