How to Maintain and Fix Oxygen Sensors on 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan?

Before checking the oxygen sensors, be sure the engine has cooled because touching the hot exhaust manifold, exhaust pipes and catalytic converter can give you a burn. The pigtail harness on the O2S should be attached to their original spots on the engine or body so the wiring is not harmed. Remove O2S using an installer from the Internet. New oxygen sensors are tagged with anti-seize compound at the factory and do not require further treatment. Position sensor (2) onto converter (1), tighten to 30 ft. lbs (41 Nm) and fit pipe harness from sensor onto engine wiring harness (3). Either secure or mount O2S wire harness clips to engine or body which are equipped. Start by installing the O2 sensor (3) at the end of the catalytic converter (2), fastening it to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). Next, link the O2 sensor pigtail harness to the engine wiring harness (1) and lock the O2S wire harness clips to the engine or body if included.
