2007 Dodge Grand Caravan Camshaft Position Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Camshaft Position Sensor on a 3.3/3.8L Engine on 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: If the old Camshaft Position Sensor is being put back in, make sure the old spacer on the face is cleaned and a new spacer is attached before fitting the sensor. Check the O-ring for signs of damage and if it's damaged, replace it. When you install a new sensor, ensure that its paper spacer is tied to the face and that its O-ring is fit in the sensor's groove. Dab a little clean engine oil onto the O-ring prior to putting it into the exhaust. Place the sensor into the chain case cover and turn it so that it contacts the camshaft gear by pressing it down. Insert and tighten the retaining bolt to 14 Nm (125 in.lbs.) of force after you set the sensor into position. Connect the camshaft position sensor electrical connection to the car's harness and then attach the air box cover and inlet hose. Also, be sure to attach the negative battery cable.
