2008 Dodge Ram 2500 Battery Tray Parts and Q&A
Q: How to remove a Battery Tray on 2008 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: Get the battery tray out by removing the battery that sits inside the tray. After that, take out the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) and unhook the wire harness retainers from the battery tray assembly. Remove the purge solenoid from the bracket it is attached to and, if present, undo the retaining bolts supporting the brake controller, still attached it supported by the mechanics wire. Lift off the left front wheelhouse splash shield, mark the spot for the cruise servo and remove its screw retaining it. Release the battery temperature sensor from its spot in the battery tray and take off the left front fender ground wire. After that, remove all remaining bolts from the battery tray and lift the tray out of the vehicle. The process on the right side is similar; remove the battery from the tray, then take off the right front wheelhouse splash shield and cut the connection for the right front fender ground wire. With the battery tray out, take off the relays from the air duct, unfasten the air box from the shell and then remove and move the battery.
