Before you install the crankshaft main bearing seal, keep the rear seal free from oil to prevent problems and save your engine. Put the plastic seal guide onto the crankshaft rear face and then drop the oil seal onto the opening made by the guide. Place the Special Tools 8349 Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Installer into the cylinder block crankshaft bore and tap it home using the C-4171 Driver Handle. After you install the seal, go on to place the flexplate and then the transmission.
