How to Service and Repair an Engine Mount for 2WD and 4WD on 2008 Dodge Ram 3500?

For the front engine mount on any 2WD vehicle, first attach the insulator to the engine and then securely fasten the mount to the engine using Mopar(R) Lock and Seal Adhesive, Medium Strength Threadlocker. Following this step, place and tighten the upper and lower mount mounting bolts to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). Lift out the engine using special tool # 8534 and then insert and tighten the mount through bolts on each side to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). Afterward, bring the vehicle down and link the negative battery cable. If you have a 4WD, put Mopar(R) Lock and Seal Adhesive, Medium Strength Threadlocker on the mount that joins the engine block to the left bracket, as well as the mount between the left bracket and the front axle, install the engine brackets to the front axle and attach the right side mount by tightening the bolts to 94 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). Place the front axle in the frame and put in the left and right through bolts, torquing each of the nuts to 94 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). Loosely put the two nuts onto the through bolts in the right and left side engine mounts. There should be full contact between the through bolts and the engine brackets. Use engine support fixture special tool #8534 to do the lower mounting bolt up. Generally, fasten the single bolt on each side and place the two lower bolts through the left engine bracket. Turn the two axle nuts on the differential to 101 Nm (75 ft. lbs.) and the top and middle bolts of the front axle to the left engine bracket to the same tightness. If the filter is taken out, install the engine oil filter, then set in place the front crossmember and the skid plate. Ease down the vehicle and reconnect its negative battery connector.
