2008 Dodge Sprinter 3500 Oil Cooler Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install an Oil Cooler on 2008 Dodge Sprinter 3500?
A: Before you can install the engine oil cooler, you should first clean every engine mating surface. After setting the oil cooler and gasket in place, put on the fasteners and tighten them to 10.8 Nm (96 in. lbs.). After that, fit the water pump housing assembly with a fresh gasket and secure it with the bolts tightened to 24.5 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Install the oil cooler coolant hose and then add the power steering reservoir. Fit the heater hoses to the housing first, next the lower radiator hose to the housing and finally the charge air hose. Once that is done, set up the coolant reservoir and its hoses and fit the turbocharger. Attach the air cleaner in its proper place, put coolant in the system and attach the negative battery cable. After that, get the engine to run and warm up, switch it off and check whether any fluid is leaking out.
