2008 Jeep Commander Belt Tensioner Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the Belt Tensioner for a 3.7L Engine on 2008 Jeep Commander?
A: Before servicing the accessory drive belt tensioner on a 3.7L engine, remove the accessory drive belt. Take out the accessory drive belt tensioner mounting bolt (1) after that and remove the accessory drive belt tensioner (2) from the engine front cover. You should remember that because the spring is very tight, the automatic tensioner must not be opened and must be serviced as one piece.
