How to Properly Install a Crankshaft Seal to Avoid Damage on 2008 Jeep Compass?

Before installing the Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal, clean the crankshaft edges to rid them of scratches or burrs and wipe the crankshaft with Mopar(R) brake parts cleaner. Grease Seal Guide 9509 using clean engine oil and make sure it is sitting on the crankshaft. Cover the guide with the seal, placing the seal's lip against the crankcase during the installation. Insert Seal Driver 9706 into the block and turn it with Driver Handle C-4171 until you don't turn the driver any more. After that, put in the flex plate, add the washer and fasten it down with new flex plate bolts tightened to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). Now, put in the transaxle.
