2008 Jeep Compass Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Properly Service and Repair a Second Row Center Seat Belt on 2008 Jeep Compass?
A: For the second row center seat belt, verify that the seat belts, buckles, mounting hardware, retractors, tether straps and anchors are correctly installed, fixed or not damaged and fix or replace any cut, bent, split or torn belts, twisted metal belts or any damaged buckles, retractors, latch plates or anchor plates. A bent or damaged anchorage for child restraints should be replaced and you should never try to repair any component in a seat belt or child seat; always use new and unused parts from the DaimlerChrysler Mopar(R) Parts Catalog. Should the second row center seat belt lower anchor be attached, press the ignition key or a small screwdriver into the release button to remove it from the anchor. After that, take out the top of the right D-pillar trim, then bring the second row center seat belt latch plate and lower anchor out through the seat belt opening found there. Open the seat belt turning loop and remove the screw found on the right upper D-pillar, also open the retractor and remove its screw from the right quarter inner panel. From the right side, lift the panel by pulling the trim, take out the center belt's retractor unit and detach the belt.
