For 3.7L/4.7L and 5.7/6.1L engines, the generator drive belt must be removed and the plastic insulator cap detached from the terminal. After that, take out the B+ terminal mounting nut at the back of the generator and separate the terminal. To disconnect, press the tab found on the rear field wire connector of the generator. When removing the generator from the 3.7L / 4.7L engines, come out with one rear vertical generator mounting bolt and two front horizontal generator mounting bolts. For these particular engines, start by removing the two generator mounting bolts and remove the generator from the vehicle.
