How to Install a Starter Motor for a 3.7/4.7L Engine on 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

To attach the starter motor for a 3.7/4.7L engine, link the solenoid wire to it and make certain it snaps in place. Put the battery cable on the solenoid stud and secure the eyelet nut to tighten it to a torque of 19 ft. lbs. (25 Nm), so the starter motor is not hanging from the harness. After that, fit the starter motor into position on the transmission. If you have an automatic transmission, fit the cooler tube bracket into position. Apply 50 ft. lbs. (68 Nm) of torque to both bolts and tighten them until the wrench doesn't turn. When the vehicle has 4WD and certain transmissions, put 2 support bracket bolts at the transmission and, if it has a front drive shaft, install it as well. Lower the vehicle once again and attach the negative battery cable after all else is done.
