How to Install Wiper Arms When the Wiper Motor Is in the Park Position on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?

Before you install the front wiper arms, place the wiper motor in park by starting the ignition and press the outer switch on the control panel to the OFF position. Allow the windshield wipers to come to a halt before turning the ignition back to OFF. To install the wiper arms, line up their pivots with the motor when it is parked, placing the wiper pivot end onto the wiper pivot shaft to ensure the lug fits into the pocket. Firmly slide the hook of the wiper arm upward to break the tension and then push down the pivot end straight and flush onto the pivot shaft. Place the wiper arm on the pivot shaft, screw and tighten the nut to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.) and then pop the plastic cap onto the end of the wiper arm.
