2008 Jeep Wrangler Wiper Motor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Wiper Motor on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?
A: After securely connecting each rear wiper motor and bracket, put the motor and bracket unit in the lift glass on the inside, so that the plastic inner spacer and rubber seal are placed between the clearance hole and the output shaft housing. As you steady the motor, install and tighten the nut that fixes the motor mounting bracket to the left lift glass hinge lower stud to 6 Nm (53 in. lbs.). You should turn the special fastener clockwise to loosen it and counterclockwise to tighten it. Go on to hold the wiper motor in position and attach the special fastener that attaches the mounting bracket to the outside of the lift glass, ensured that the force used is 35 in. lbs. Attach the hardtop wire harness to the rear wiper motor pigtail wire harness connector and link the hardtop washer hose to the rear wiper motor transmission housing washer nipple. Drop the guide pins on the rear surface of the rear wiper motor cover into the three clearance holes at the rear of the wiper motor bracket, then push the cover up against the bracket until the three snap clip retainers hold it in place. Reduce the lift glass and lock the gate after it, then insert the rubber seal and spacer over the rear wiper motor shaft. Screw the output shaft nut to the lift glass to 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.) and put on the plastic cover over the output shaft. Connect the rear wiper arm onto the output shaft and reconnect the battery's negative cable.
