While you have the ignition on, press the rear wiper switch to ensure it is in park and then attach the wiper arm. Should the wiper motor output shaft turn, allow it to stop and switch the ignition back off immediately. The park position requires that the rear wiper arm is indexed to the rear wiper motor output shaft. Lift the wiper arm to the horizontal and secure the pivot at the opposite end of the output shaft so that the tip of the wiper blade is halfway down from the top of the rear defogger and towards the edge of the upper glass blackout area. Index the rear wiper arm properly and push the tapered mounting hole on it down over the output shaft. Place the nut on the arm and tighten it to the output shaft at 19.5 Nm (14 ft. lbs.). Push the nut cover onto the upper part of the pivot end of the rear wiper arm. Turn on the sprayer and operate the rear wiper, next turn the wiper switch to OFF, examine the wiper arm and fix its position as needed.
