2009 Chrysler 300 Fuel Level Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Fuel Level Sensor on 2009 Chrysler 300?
    A: Before working on the fuel level sensor, open the fuel pressure and unattach the negative battery cable. Before taking off the module lock-ring, make certain the fuel is below 5/8 of a tank. You should use a hard tube with a 30° hole cut in it to drain about one-third of the fuel to clear the check valve. Push the rear lower seat cushion back and up, then pull the foam pad over the modules' access cover to expose it. Remove the electrical connector from the left side module and mark what direction it faces. Apply tool #9340 to the left side module lock ring and then drain the left tank by lifting the module and pushing the hose in. Pull out the module, remove the connector from the bottom and pump the left side module. Take off the top part of the module and flip the lower half to drain the fuel. After pushing in on the release tab to release the fuel line, take out the top fuel supply line from the lower half of the module. Then, pull out the fuel return line and the siphon return line off the top. Pull out the right floor pan's plastic access covers and break the fuel supply line from the module, marking its position. Take off the right side module lock ring with special tool #9340 and drain the fuel from the right side tank similarly as before. Get the module out of the fuel tank, free it from the fuel level sensor card and take the ground wire off the check valve and fuel pressure regulator. After that, take out the fuel level sensor card and cut the straps attached to the hose to remove the wiring for the card.
