How to Safely Detach a Drive Shaft on 2009 Chrysler Aspen?

Before taking out the drive shaft, park the vehicle in neutral and on a hoist. Make a line across the pinion flange and propeller shaft flange which is your reference. Then, loosen and take out the pinion flange bolts from the propeller shaft flange. Unscrew the propeller shaft off the automatic transmission/transfer case output shaft and mark them both so you remember where to fit them again. Once you're done, remove the propeller shaft from the car while avoiding anything that might trigger vibration along the driveline.
