How to remove and replace an oil filter on 2009 Chrysler Aspen?

A Mopar(R) or equivalent filter is suggested to use when replacing the engine oil filter. First, set the oil filter drain pan under where the old oil filter was. With a suitable filter wrench, unscrew the filter clockwise which removes it from the oil filter boss on the cylinder block. As you separate the filter, tip the end closest to the gasket up in order to prevent dribbling out. Once you have taken the filter, also take out the filter gasket. After, clean the area around the gasket surface with an oil-free wiping cloth.
