2009 Chrysler Aspen Starter Motor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Starter Motor for 3.7L, 4.7L, and 5.7L Engines with Manual or Automatic Transmission on 2009 Chrysler Aspen?
A: Connect the solenoid wire to the starter motor when preparing to install the starter motor for your 3.7L or 4.7L that uses a manual transmission. Link the battery cable to the solenoid stud and place the battery cable eyelet nut on the end, tightening it to 25 Nm (19 ft. lbs.) and seeing to it that the starter motor is not hanging from the wire harness. Put the starter motor in place beside the transmission, install the lockwasher, nut and bolt and tighten the nut using 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.). Don't forget to pause the jack as you drop the vehicle and secure the negative cable to the negative battery post. Start by running the solenoid wire and battery cable for the 3.7L or 4.7L car equipped with automatic transmission. Put the starter motor near the transmission, mount the cooler tube bracket for automatic transmission and secure the motor with both bolts to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.). Lower the car and seal the negative battery cable to it. For 5.7L V-8, join the solenoid wire to the starter motor, put the battery cable onto the solenoid stud and secure it with a nut, not letting the starter hang from the harness. Reposition the starter motor on the engine, insert the cooler tube bracket if your car has an automatic and install and tighten both bolts to the amount indicated in the car's manual. Bring down the vehicle, then hook up the negative battery cable.
