How to Service and Repair the Thermostat for a 3.7L/4.7L Engine on 2009 Chrysler Aspen?

Before repairing or servicing the engine coolant thermostat on a 3.7L or 4.7L engine, remove the negative battery terminal and drain the cooling fluid first. After that, lift and hold up the car. Only for the 4.7L engine, remove the splash shield. After that, take off the lower radiator hose from the thermostat housing. To complete the guide, remove the mounting bolts for the thermostat housing (2), the thermostat housing (1) and the thermostat (3).
