How to Service and Repair a Door Latch Assembly on 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

The first step in servicing and repairing the rear door latch is to remove the door trim panel. Subsequently, lift the door glass into its highest position and take out the lower rear run channel. Unfasten the clips securing the linkage rods to the door latch, then take the rods out of the latch. Next, unscrew the screws that fix the latch to the door end frame and, once these are loosened, disconnect the latch from the vehicle.
