2009 Chrysler Sebring Brake Caliper Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Rear Brake Caliper on 2009 Chrysler Sebring?
A: You should use a brake pedal holding tool to push the brake pedal more than one inch (25mm) down and keep it that way which helps stop brake fluid from exiting the hydraulic system. After that, lift up the vehicle and secure it, take out the three wheel mounting nuts and then remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Untwist the brake tube nut at the rear flex hose, disconnect the clip keeping the rear flex hose in place on the trailing link mounted bracket and take off the flex hose from the bracket. Take apart the brake caliper and take out the brake flex hose. Make sure to notice that one of the guide pin bolts has a special sleeve at the end. Before tightening it, insert the sleeve into the upper mounting hole. After removing the two brake plate guide pin bolts, just slide and lift the disc brake caliper (with the outboard pad attached) off the bracket, inboard brake pad and rotor. In the end, pry the retaining clip off the caliper and lift the outboard brake pad out.
