2009 Dodge Caliber Intake Manifold Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove an Intake Manifold on 2009 Dodge Caliber?
A: Before you remove the intake manifold, let any fuel system pressure leak out and work in a well-ventilated spot, keeping away from anything that might spark or interact with the car's system. The first step is to take off the engine cover. Then, detach the negative cable from the battery and unbolt and take out the air cleaner inlet and housing. Separate the fuel line from the rail and next unplug the fuel injector electrical connectors. Following that, remove the bolts that hold the fuel rail in place. Remove the electrical connectors from the oil temperature sensor, variable valve timing solenoid and intake camshaft position sensor and put the harness to one side. Take off the throttle body support bracket and remove the link to the electronic throttle control from the connector. Eliminate the retainer that holds the wiring harness to the intake manifold and then release the electrical connector from the MAP sensor along with both vacuum lines. Remove the bracket on the upper radiator hose, the bolts holding the intake manifold and the intake manifold item itself.
