How to Maintain the Secondary Thermostat on a Gas Engine on 2009 Dodge Caliber?

First, operate the thermostat into the cylinder head from its cradle. Be sure the water pump inlet tube O-rings are not damaged before adding the tube to the coolant adapter and replace any broken ones before moving on. Put a little soapy water on the O-rings, then slide the coolant adapter onto the inlet tube of the water pump and into the cylinder head. Put in the coolant adapter bolts and tighten them to 18 Nm (159 in. lbs.). Connect the front, rear and radiator hoses together. Attach the air filter housing and then prepare to fill the cooling system.
