How to Perform a Seat Switch Removal on 2009 Dodge Dakota?

The first step before removing the switch for the power seat is to disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. After that, remove the screw fixing the recliner lever to the release shaft which is found on the driver's side, at the front of the seat cushion. Loosen the recliner lever from its shaft and then remove the two screws holding the driver side seat cushion side shield to the outboard seat cushion frame. Pull the seat cushion shield away from the seat frame on the driver's side to reach the wire harness of the switch assembly and remove it from the switch module. Get rid of the seat cushion side shield and power seat switch module unitedly from the seat. Then, remove the two screws inside the cushion side shield that secure the switch and lastly get rid of the switch from the cushion side shield.
