2009 Dodge Durango Brake Pad Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install New Brake Pads on 2009 Dodge Durango?
A: Drive the brake pistons all the way in before installing the new brake pads by putting an old brake shoe between the piston and the C-clamp you are holding down over the piston. First, tidy up the caliper mounting adapter and then anti-rattle springs and remember to coat them with Mopar brake grease, since these springs are not the same as others. Attach the anti-rattle springs first beneath the suspension, then above the suspension on top. Install the inboard brake shoe in the adapter and following that, add the outboard brake shoe. Place the top of the caliper over the rotor and slot it below the adapter, then push down the caliper's bottom onto the adapter. After that, place the caliper on and secure the wheel and tire assembly. Afterwards, lower the vehicle. Disconnect the 12 volt battery system ground isolation connector (1) when the vehicle comes with a 5.7L HEV. Press the brakes several times until the caliper pistons and brake shoes securely fit, give the pedal a solid feel and then top off the master cylinder fluid.
