2009 Dodge Nitro Catalytic Converter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Catalytic Converter on a 3.7L Engine on 2009 Dodge Nitro?
A: Before servicing the catalytic converter on a 3.7L engine, raise and prop up the vehicle. Work some heat valve lubricant into the bolts and nuts and wait 5 minutes so it can spread through the joints. First, detach the oxygen sensor electrical connectors and afterward release the nuts that connect the front exhaust pipe and catalytic converter to the muffler flange. After that, remove the bolts and flanged nuts from the main manifold. Slide out the front exhaust pipe/catalytic converter assembly from the mount on the transmission, then take the whole assembly out of the vehicle.
