2009 Dodge Nitro Oil Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: What Is the Best Method to Remove and Replace an Oil Filter on 2009 Dodge Nitro?
A: A high-quality disposable oil filter for full-flow cleaning comes with every engine and Chrysler Corporation advises using a Mopar(R) or equivalent. Before removing the oil filter, place a drain pan below it and tighten a suitable oil filter wrench to loosen the filter. Turn the filter counterclockwise to take it off from the cylinder block oil filter boss. When the filter is removed, turn the gasket part upwards so that any excess oil won't flow through and put the filter out of the vehicle. After pulling out the filter, also remove the gasket, then clean the gasket area on the crankcase where it seals with a wiping cloth.
