2009 Dodge Nitro Seat Cover Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Seat Cover on a 60/40 Seat Cushion on 2009 Dodge Nitro?
A: Attach the seat cover to the cushion, then fold the cover to access the hog ring locations and add new hog rings to fix the cover onto the 60/40 seat cushion. After that, put the cover and cushion together and link them to the seat cushion frame so the front and rear J-straps are held firmly in place. Attach each seat cover plastic retaining clip to the seat base, set the front floor bracket near the seat and place the floor assemblies on the seat cushion assembly and mount the nuts with a torque of 10 Nm (88.5 in. lbs.). Get the cable housing all the way into place and attach the clips on the seat cushion cover. Mount the 60 inch-high seat onto the seat-back frame, insert the seat bolt into the left-side floor bracket and seat frame and tighten at 27.5 Nm (20 ft. lbs.), then install the other pivot bolt to the left-side floor bracket and seat frame and also tighten at 27.5 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Put the seat cover over the 40 seat cushion frame, fold it back so you can see where to place the hog rings and add them back in. Bind the seat cover and its cushion to the frame, secure the J-straps on the front and back and join the seat cover plastic clips to the frame. Put the cushion assembly partway onto the pivot bolt and slide it down so it connects to the floor brackets, then connect the seat bolt to the right side floor bracket and tighten it to 27.5 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Join the cable housing and snap the seat cushion cover clips in place and secure the front bracket legs into place on the foam cushion assembly, tightening all the bolts to 10 Nm (88.5 in. lbs.). Insert the cable at the end and put the 60/40 rear seat into place.
