2009 Dodge Ram 2500 Brake Pad Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace Brake Pads on 2009 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: When changing front brake pads on 2500 and 3500 models, press down on the pistons using a C-clamp and an old brake shoe to keep them in the caliper bore. After cleaning the mounting adapter and anti-rattle springs, grease each anti-rattle spring with Mopar brake grease, because the springs are not designed to be interchanged. Replace the top anti-rattle springs (2) and then follow it by installing the bottom anti-rattle springs (1). After that, insert both the inboard (1) and outboard (1) brake shoes into adapters (2). Guide the top of the caliper just over the rotor and under the adapter and gently press down on the caliper's bottom until it sits on the adapter securely. First, put on the caliper, then place on the tire and wheel assemblies and finally lower the automobile. Stamp on the brake pedal several times to make the brake shoes and calipers fit securely and look after the fluid level in the master cylinder.
