How to Maintain and Repair a Universal Joint-Single Cardan on 2009 Dodge Ram 2500?

Before taking off the bearing caps of a Universal Joint-Single Cardan, cover them with penetrating oil. The first step is to take off the axle shaft. After that, remove the bearing cap snap rings from the stub shaft yoke bearing caps. Fasten the receiver/socket and the driver/socket to the stub shaft yoke in the press and then over the yoke bearings, insert the bearing cup into the receiver/socket. Take off the bearing cap on the stub shaft yoke. Do the same again with the other bearing cup, seating it in the socket and removing the bearing cap, then take the cross out of the U-joint so that the stub shaft can be removed. Take out the snap rings from the shaft yoke bearing caps. Again, put both the receiver/socket and driver/socket on the shaft yoke in the press, pressing the bearing cup into the receiver/socket and take off the bearing cap. After that, insert the bearing cup into the socket and then take out the bearing cap which removes the cross from the shaft yoke.
