2009 Dodge Viper Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Fuel Rail While Ensuring Proper Connections and Safety Measures on 2009 Dodge Viper?
A: The first part of installing the fuel rail is to put the fuel injectors onto it and a little clean oil on the O-ring at the injector end is recommended. Insert the fuel injector nozzles into the openings in the cylinder heads and get them to seat into place and then only hand tighten the fuel rail bolts. It is important to use the correct order for tightening the fuel rail bolts to 10 Nm (90 in. lbs.). After that, put in the intake manifold and install the electrical connectors from the car's wiring to each of the fuel injectors, keeping in mind to fasten the quick connector on the fuel line to help avoid fuel floods and potential fire. Join the electrical connectors to the throttle bodies, then clip the harness installer to the throttle bodies. Put the end of the vacuum hose onto the intake manifold nipple and change the position of the hose clamp. Connect the electrical connector to the MAP sensor and put in the air cleaner assembly. Connections are complete when you attach the negative battery cable and tighten it to 10 NM (90 in. lbs.). After that, pressurize the fuel system and use ASD Fuel System Test on the scan tool to look for leaks.
