2009 Jeep Commander Crankshaft Seal Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Properly Install a Front Crankshaft Seal on 2009 Jeep Commander?
A: Before installing the front crankshaft seal, be sure to clean both the damper bore and crankshaft nose, since damage could occur to the crankshaft, damper or Damper Installer 8512A. Follow the instructions for Seal Installer 8348 and Damper Installer 8512A to place the crankshaft front seal. Once you've done that, fit the vibration damper and next, install the radiator cooling fan and shroud. Then, attach the top radiator hose to the radiator first. After that, fit the A/C compressor and tighten its fasteners to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) in torque. After that, you need to install the accessory drive belt. Fill the system with coolant and finally put the fort negative cable back onto the battery.
